Just Rite Comfort Shoes Donates 150 Pairs of Shoes to New Haven Home Recovery

 West Haven, CT - Just Rite Comfort Shoes and Yaleet Inc., distributors of Naot footwear, have teamed together to donate 150 pairs of quality shoes to New Haven Home Recovery on November 7, in time for Thanksgiving and the colder winter season. 

Just Rite Comfort Shoes, located in the Temple Medical Building in New Haven, has provided the residents of New Haven with quality footwear since January 2008. The owners of Just Rite Comfort Shoes, Dr. and Mrs. Neal Zomback, are active members of the community and feel strongly that they should contribute back to their community and to individuals who are less fortunate.  Just Rite Comfort Shoes, along with Yaleet, with the help of UPS who donates the shipping, donated 150 pairs of Naot shoes to New Haven Home Recovery, an organization that provides housing and support services to women and their children in the New Haven area.

 Naot footwear is manufactured in Israel and is one of the leading comfort footwear brands in the market. Since 1991, Yaleet Inc. and Naot have been donating shoes to people in need with the help of their generous retailers. Woman’s shelters, hurricane victims, homeless shelters, and drug rehabilitation facilities are an example of the types of charities that have benefited from this program. In addition, each year Yaleet Inc. makes generous contributions to the fight against breast cancer.

 New Haven Home Recovery has been the primary provider of housing services for homeless families for over 18 years. The realization that many of the women living at CareWays needed medical care for AIDS diagnoses led to NHHR’s development in 1993 of housing with support services for this fragile population. NHHR continued to expand housing opportunities in response to other critical needs in the community. NHHR provides a continuum of care which includes: shelter and housing services, food pantries, clinical assessment and treatment, locating housing, advocacy, and intensive in-home case management through our four supportive housing programs. NHHR has now developed over 100 units of supportive housing with support services. This demonstrates the commitment of NHHR to continue to secure safe, affordable housing units where families can live in community settings.

CareWays & Martha’s Place Shelters are the critical components in the process of housing families. The shelters are entry points into a plan designed to help the women address the problems which led to their homelessness. We advocate for, and support them as they rebuild and reclaim their lives and regain their independence. Of equal importance, is that the children living in the shelters receive care, education and activities through the SEARCH program (Services, Education & Activities Reaching Children who are Homeless). This is the only program of its kind in New Haven and as far as we know the only one in CT. This program was developed by NHHR executive director and staff in response to their observation that homeless children needed special attention due to the trauma, stigma and other serious issues that plague them due to their homelessness.

Just Rite Comfort Shoes Donates 100 Pairs of Shoes to Christian Community Action

New Haven, CT - Just Rite Comfort Shoes and Yaleet Inc., distributors of Naot footwear, have teamed together to donate 100 pairs of quality shoes to Christian Community Action on November 21, in time for Thanksgiving and the colder winter season.

Just Rite Comfort Shoes, located in the Temple Medical Building, has provided the residents of New Haven with quality footwear since January 2008. The owners of Just Rite Comfort Shoes, Dr. and Mrs. Neal Zomback, are active members of the community and feel strongly that they should contribute back to their community and to individuals who are less fortunate.  Just Rite Comfort Shoes, along with Yaleet, with the help of UPS who donates the shipping, will donate 100 pairs of Naot shoes to Christian Community Action, an organization that provides emergency food, housing and support to those who are poor in New Haven.

Christian Community Action has been providing assistance to New Haven's poor since 1967.  CCA has grown and evolved substantially, while remaining true to its origin mission of serving families in crisis and assisting individuals to realize their unique strengths and potential. In addition to dealing with unexpected, short-term emergencies such as fires and evictions, CCA is now actively involved in helping families attain self-sufficiency through initiatives such as our Stepping Stone Transitional Housing Program while, at the same time, advocating change in the systems that perpetuate poverty and injustice through efforts such as our Advocacy and Education Project  and the developing LifeWorks Center.
